Another big step completed!!!

We received our documents back from the Chinese Consulate today and everything has been authenticated! Now we have to get Dossier to our agency who then sends everything to China. For those of you who do not know what the dossier is (pronounced daw-see-ey), this term refers to the set of appropriately authenticated and translated legal documents which are used in international adoption. Once our agency sends it, this step is called "Dossier to China" or "DTC." This is when our dossier has been loaded electronically in the system and mailed to CCCWA to await translation and review. Then we will get a log in date. This term is "Logged in Dossier" or "LID" which is when the CCCWA acknowledges receipt of your hard copy dossier and issues a “Log In Date.” After this our paperwork will be shuffled from desk to desk as it gets translated, reviewed and approved by different people. This process will take roughly 2-3 months. Then we will have a better idea of when we can travel. We keep getting a little closer every day!
