The Chinese Consulate...

Well, we are on to the next big step in our adoption process. Our documents have been sent to the courier that we have to use and they should be taken to the Chinese Consulate in Chicago tomorrow. This step is where the Chinese Consulate authenticates all of our documents. This process will take about a week and we hope to have our items back in about 10 days. Once we get our paper work back, we will give everything to our agency who will then submit all of our documents to China. This step is called "Dossier to China" or "DTC". This is a huge step in the adoption world so keep your fingers crossed that the consulate approves all of our documents.

We are frequently asked about when we will travel to get our son...unfortunately we do not have the answer to that. It is truly a waiting game. At this point nothing is certain and our timeline is based on when our paper work gets passed certain points. Right now based on how quickly we have gotten through the other steps in this process, we are hoping to be able to travel by the end of the year. Specifically we are "guesstimating" that it may be around November but again, things can change. So please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. It is definitely stressful and feels like the days just drag on. But we know that it will be worth it in the end.
